Contractor Classification (DMT)

Classification for Contractors:

A. Special Category

This is the highest level of Category for Contracting Companies and has highest number of requirements to be met.

Note:- While local companies can choose among the Categories for classification, All Foreign Branch companies in Abu Dhabi are required to be classified in Special Category only.

Requirements:

• Minimum AED 20 million Equity for last Fiscal year
• 3 Company Engineers, each having 10 years overall experience, required per Classifying Activity.
• Executed projects from the Company worth AED 240 million in the last 10 years per Classifying Activity.
• ISO 9001 & 14001 certifications

B. First Category

Requirements:

• Minimum AED 10 million Equity for last Fiscal year
• 2 Company Engineers, each having 10 years overall experience, required per Classifying Activity.
• Executed projects from the Company worth AED 120 million in the last 10 years per Classifying Activity.
• ISO 9001 & 14001 certifications

C. Second Category

Requirements:

• Minimum AED 5 million Equity for last Fiscal year
• 2 Company Engineers, each having 7 years overall experience, required per Classifying Activity.
• Executed projects from the Company worth AED 60 million in the last 10 years per Classifying Activity.
• ISO 9001 & 14001 certifications

D. Third Category

Requirements:

• 2 Company Engineers, each having 5 years overall experience, required per Classifying Activity.
• Executed projects from the Company worth AED 30 million in the last 10 years per Classifying Activity.

E. Fourth Category

Requirements:

• 1 Company Engineer, each having 5 years overall experience, required per Classifying Activity.
• Executed projects from the Company worth AED 15 million in the last 10 years per Classifying Activity.

F. Fifth Category

Suitable for New Contracting companies that do not have any Past projects experience.

Requirements:

• 1 Company Engineer, each having 4 years overall experience, required per Classifying Activity.

G. Sixth Category

Suitable for New Contracting companies that do not have any Past projects experience.

Requirements:

• 1 Company Engineer, each having 3 years overall experience, required per Classifying Activity.
